Program Overview
“Making Sure Your HIV Care is the Best It Can Be” was developed to strengthen the HIV consumer’s role in treatment decisions and to introduce consumers to the concepts of quality of care assessment and qualityimprovement. Our program is designed to empower and encourage consumers to use their self-advocacy skills to gather disease-specific quality of care information for themselves.
What to Expect
-The workshop is divided into three modules. Each module has several short interactive activities to strengthen understanding and skill development
-Highly interactive program that requires little or no reading byparticipants
-The workshop is designed to last 2.5 hours facilitated by OAC Client Outreach Coordinators
Healthcare Journal
Participants in the this program will also receive a copy of the OAC “My Health Journal.” This journal is for the consumers’ personal use to help them track and stay on top of their health care. It can help consumers make more informed decisions about medical care.

- Understand Hep C transmission, prevention, sympotms and treatment for people living with HIV
- Identify various methods helpful in managing Hep C & HIV Co-infection

OAC is currently planning Consumer Education Programs to be held in the coming months. These programs will be designed to solicit input into Ohio’s Ryan White Part B Program. In adition, OAC Consumer Education Programs provide consumers with HIV treatment education.
